Camp Overview

Music Kamp Afrika is a three-day multicultural youth camp event, organised to converge creative youths from different African countries at a world class venue with conducive and serene environment, during a summer month, during which they will collaborate to create and showcase outstanding musical project for the world’s viewing.

This project assembles about 200 young and talented musicians from across Africa and fosters a creative collaboration and networking among them. Participants jointly create music, shoot musical videos and share the stage in performances. Renowned musicians and music industry professionals also hold training and mentoring sessions with participants at the camp. In addition to musical performances, there are also cultural exchange programs, games and lots of opportunities to network.

The key intention of Music Kamp Afrika is to provide the opportunity for the participants to share creative ideas and experiences with their peers expected to join from different parts of Africa. In addition, this gathering helps the delegates to establish friendship or business relations as well as to find international linkage for future collaborations in their career paths.

The ultimate goal is that Music Kamp Afrika, through networking and collaborations, will lead to significant contributions to a youth-driven development in Africa, in the creative industry as well as other key sectors.

Camp Features

Kamp Create Sessions​

This is an avenue where diverse cultures and traditions come together to create unique and original African music content. 

Participants are distributed into small work-groups upon arrival in the camp and are tasked with creating unique musical content that will be presented by each work-group at the end of each day.

Star Mingles Sessions

This provides an opportunity for participants to mingle with various invited notable music personalities from all over Africa to collaborate, create and recreate. Through this experience, participants can get inspired, share ideas and network with them.

This way, they get insights and ideas whilst familiarizing themselves with the industry professionals. They also have fun and play games.

Music seminars

This involves interactive training sessions anchored by renowned industry personalities.


This gives the participants the opportunity to acquire knowledge from experienced industry personalities.

Live Stage Performances and Grooming

This provides a platform for participants to showcase their art on a live stage to an audience comprised of their peers and more experienced music industry professionals.

Participants also get to perform their original songs with a live band onstage.

Leisure and Games Sessions

Interspersing all the camp activities with fun is a major attraction of the camp.

Fun activities such as campfire nights, group morning exercises, beach soccer, outdoor games, indoor games, videogames, swimming etc. are rife at the camp.

Camp History

The maiden edition of this great event was held, in partnership with Friesland Campina and Motherland Beckons Initiative, at La Campagne Tropicana beach resort, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, from November 16th – 19th, 2016 and featured over 100 participants from six different African countries who came together to collaborate, create and recreate music. Some of the stars that graced the camp include Eva Alordiah, Femi Slide, Ara, Beki from Zimbabwe among others.

The second edition was held, in partnership with Tiwa’nTiwa TV, at Atican Beach Resort, Lekki, Lagos, from September 14th – 16th, 2017 and featured over 90 local and international participants. Masterclass and video shoot session facilitators at this event included Mr Ben Ogbeiwi of MTN Project Fame, Mr Femi Ogunrombi, the first Papa Ajasco, and Mr Akapo Emmanuel, Founder and CEO of Tenstrings Music Institute.

The third edition of this event was also held at Atican Beach Resort, Lekki, Lagos, from September 20th – 22nd, 2018. It featured about 120 local and international participants!
